Partnerships goes green
with new Chairman
After seven successful years at the forefront of commercial property development
across the Eastern region, Building Partnerships Ltd is entering an exciting
new era with a new chairman. Following the departure of Henry Cator to concentrate
on his rural and residential interests, director Paul Knowles will take sole
charge to concentrate on guiding the business through some exciting new projects
which will see Building Partnerships Ltd at the cutting edge of commercial
property development, with a keen focus on green issues.
Building Partnerships has always focused on environmental concerns surrounding
its property developments, and it is in this area that the new chairman will
continue to work tirelessly to take responsibility for the environmental
impact of all his new projects:
“In the last 15 years, there has been a 30% increase in global carbon dioxide
production, mainly as a result of burning fossil fuels. The media and the government
are increasingly drawing public attention to the issues around global warming
but little time is given to the problems generated by buildings and property.
As an environmentally-friendly developer, we constantly strive to reduce the
environmental impact of all our developments and encourage the use of natural
or renewable energy sources,” explains new Chairman Paul Knowles.
Mr Knowles (50), will continue to take a hands-on role within the business,
passing on his expertise through strategic property, development and consultancy
advice.
With over 25 years of commercial development experience, which included the
conception of the highly successful commercial property department at Bidwells
Norwich office, Mr Knowles has undertaken successful commissions for leading
local names such as the University of East Anglia, Ministry of Defence and
May Gurney Integrated Services Plc. Building Partnerships is currently overseeing
the innovative regeneration of a redundant site at Salhouse, and Mr Knowles
plans to locate his new offices within this “green office” scheme
upon completion of the project.
