Building Partnerships is a regional property development company and planning advisor committed to promoting solutions that encourage a low-carbon economy and environmental sustainability.

The company has extensive expertise of schemes throughout the eastern region, working in conjunction with specialist consultant organisations through all phases of the development process, from conception through feasibility and design to construction and completion.

Our team have experience across all commercial development sectors including office, industrial, retail, leisure and mixed use.

Building Partnerships’ portfolio includes the pioneering Eco-Community proposed for Rackheath near Norwich. The development is the only Eco-Town proposal to be granted Grade A status by the government in terms of its suitability for sustainable development (see rackheatheco-community.com).

Committed to Reducing Carbon

Building Partnerships is committed to minimising the carbon footprint from its business. To assist with this we have developed a carbon impact monitor which we have refined over a number of years to include purchasing, waste, transport and recycling. Issues that have been improved in that time include:

The weekly waste sent to landfill.

Purchasing 100% of our needs as green energy from sustainable sources
Investigating projects that will generate energy at least to cover our business use
Business travel by rail, where practical, so that a single person car use for business (including travel to work) is no more than 40% of distance travelled
Waste minimisation so that materials are recycled wherever possible. We have set up systems to achieve an annual waste to landfill of no more than 5% by weight compared to the UK where around 54% of all waste is sent to landfill. We monitor our waste weekly.
